Software Engineer - a bit about who I am and how I work.
Hi, I'm Hamza Syrage, a software engineer with 2+ years of experience in frontend development, building modern web applications.
I started my career as a frontend developer, and it's still my favorite part of software. I like taking an idea and slowly turning it into something real. That's usually the easy part though. The harder part, and honestly the one I enjoy the most, is questioning every decision, rethinking things that already work, and spending way too long polishing details that most people will probably never notice.
I enjoy building products I'd actually use myself. Most of my side projects start because I run into a problem and think, "Someone should build this." If I end up being that someone, even better.
Over the past two years I've worked on production applications, but I spend just as much time outside of work building personal projects, trying out new ideas, and writing about what I learn. I enjoy understanding why something works, not just making it work.
This portfolio is a collection of that work. Some projects solve real problems. Some are small experiments. A few exist simply because I wanted to see if I could build them better than the idea in my head.
