SIFO Meeting Platform

An engineering preview of the video meeting platform behind. WebRTC and WebSockets working together, permission-gated video at scale for thousands of attendees, adaptive audio and video processing, a real-time tile layout algorithm, and formal electronic voting for meetings that carry legal weight.

An embeddable medical news aggregator shipped as a real, framework-agnostic HTML tag, themed per client through attributes, with an honest look at what actually kept the bundle lean and the one deliberate tradeoff that didn't.

A Bit
About Me.

a bit about who I am and how I work.

Hi, I'm Hamza Syrage, a software engineer with 2+ years of experience in frontend development, building modern web applications.

I started my career as a frontend developer, and it's still my favorite part of software. I like taking an idea and slowly turning it into something real. That's usually the easy part though. The harder part, and honestly the one I enjoy the most, is questioning every decision, rethinking things that already work, and spending way too long polishing details that most people will probably never notice.

I enjoy building products I'd actually use myself. Most of my side projects start because I run into a problem and think, "Someone should build this." If I end up being that someone, even better.

Over the past two years I've worked on production applications, but I spend just as much time outside of work building personal projects, trying out new ideas, and writing about what I learn. I enjoy understanding why something works, not just making it work.

This portfolio is a collection of that work. Some projects solve real problems. Some are small experiments. A few exist simply because I wanted to see if I could build them better than the idea in my head.

How I Built This Portfolio

A very long, very honest, hopefully quite funny walkthrough of every piece of this site. Routing, three separate MDX content systems, build-time syntax highlighting, live Mermaid diagrams, the animation and typography rulebooks I wrote for myself.
